Featured Title:
DB2 Fundamentals Certification for Dummies
by Paul C. Zikopoulos, Jennifer Gibbs and Roman B. Melnyk
Written in typical "Dummies" style,
DB2 Fundamentals Certification for Dummies
(Hungry Minds, 2001) is well organized and easy to read. A one-stop shop for fundamentals certification, the book draws on the
expertise of authors Paul Zikopoulos, Jennifer Gibbs, and Roman Melnyk IBM employees who work on the DB2 Universal Database development team at the Toronto Lab.
The authors compiled over 300 sample test questions, which are provided with the book. In addition, the book includes valuable meta-information about the test questions, such as the number of questions you can expect in each subject area. Also provided is a specific mapping from the test objectives as published by IBM (
http://www.ibm.com/certify/tests/obj512.shtml
) to the part of the book that covers that topic.
The authors talked to dozens of people about their certification and studying experience (passes and failures), and found out what they needed to know to pass the exam. Perhaps more importantly, they found out what people
didn't
need to know to pass.
Another valuable feature is the information about the IBM Certification testing
software. One entire chapter is devoted to the testing experience, and includes screen captures of the testing software, so nothing will come as a surprise on testing day.
