ASKED AND ANSWERED: AUTHORS ADDRESS YOUR QUERIES
Granting Wishes: iSeries SQL Triggers
(
http://www.db2mag.com/db_area/archives/2002/q2/pavlak.shtml
)
1. We're upgrading from V4R4 to V5R1 of the operating system. We
currently use triggers but wonder if there are any
major concerns
with triggers on V5R1. Find out at
http://www.db2mag.com/qanda/020625a.shtml
.
2. I tried entering the RUNSQLSTM, CRTSQLCI, and CRTSQLRPG commands
and got messages saying the commands are not found. What library are
these commands located in, or what feature of OS/400 do I need to use
SQL? Read Michael Pavlak's advice at
http://www.db2mag.com/qanda/020625b.shtml
.
"DDF vs. CICS," DB2 DBA
(
http://www.db2mag.com/db_area/archives/2000/q4/db2dba.shtml
)
Is DDF as an option for sharing data between four DB2 subsystems
that will be needed for read-only batch jobs? Robert Catterall
explains
http://www.db2mag.com/qanda/020625c.shtml
.
"When Less is More," DB2 DBA
(
http://www.db2mag.com/db_area/archives/2002/q2/db2dba.shtml
)
Why not place the
table in question in its own tablespace? Then it
could be attached to its own buffer pool and sized according the
table data? This way there would be no need to change applications.
