2. IBM NEWS
DB2 V.8.1 Beta Program
IBM announced a beta program for IBM DB2 Version 8.1 for Linux,
Unix, and Windows. The new release, slated to ship in the fourth
quarter, features new self-managing features designed to reduce
administrative
costs, plus support for federated Web services and XML
to support information integration. Other new features in v.8.1
enhance business intelligence, availability, scalability, and
performance capabilities. Watch for a detailed review of v.8.1
