Cheetah is Ready to Pounce
IBM celebrated the release of Informix Dynamic Server 11 (codenamed "Cheetah") at the Informix development lab in Lenexa, Kansas, yesterday. Learn about the new features at the IBM Informix site or in "Run, Cheetah, Run," by Stuart Litel. The new Multinode Active Cluster for High Availability feature (known as MACH 11), gets a thorough write-up in Eric Herber's Informix Zone blog. Coming June 21: A webcast on the architect's view of
new Informix Dynamic Server features.

Healthcare information and research company Ingenix won The Data Warehouse Institute's 2007 Best Practices Award in the enterprise data warehouse category. TDWI's Best Practices Awards program identifies and honors companies that have demonstrated excellence in developing, deploying, and maintaining BI and DW applications. Winners are chosen by a panel of independent judges.

Certification candidates can take up to three certification exams at no charge at the upcoming IBM Information On Demand 2007 conference, Oct. 14-19 in Las Vegas. New Certification Exam and Tutorial Series: IBM Informix Dynamic Server V11 System Administration
To achieve this IDS certification credential, candidates must take and pass exam 918. This new exam includes seven sections containing a total of 71 multiple choice questions. Candidates have 120 minutes to complete the exam and must score 70 percent correct or greater to pass.
A new series of eight tutorials helps candidates prepare. A quick registration is required, and each tutorial should take less than two hours to complete.

International DB2 User Group (IDUG) Updates:
IDUG recently posted the Spring 2007 issue of IDUG Solutions Journal to its Web site. The issue features user- and industry expert-authored articles on DB2 locking, reorg and automation, deep compression in DB2 9, and more. The conference schedule is now available for IDUG 2007 - Europe, 5-9
November 2007 in Athens, Greece. Completing an online registration survey brings a chance to win a complimentary registration.
The IDUG 2007 - North America wrap-up article is now available, and the 2008 North America Call for Presentations and Call for Volunteers are open at idug.org.
